A warm welcome to Dirk Debruyne

We are delighted to announce that Dirk Debruyne has joined the IIA Belgium team, bringing with him nearly 30 years of experience in internal and external audit across global industrial environments. Dirk is a seasoned C-level executive known for developing and strengthening audit functions in complex international settings.

He began his career at Ernst & Young (EY) in Belgium, where he managed audits for large multinational companies. Dirk later moved into internal audit at Ingersoll Rand, a US-listed global industrial group, where he built the internal audit function in Europe and eventually took responsibility for all audit assignments outside the United States, leading teams in Brussels, Bangalore, and Shanghai.

After 12 years with Ingersoll Rand, Dirk joined Aliaxis as Group Vice President Audit, overseeing internal control reviews, IT audits, investigations, and the group’s ethics program. He also served as Group Internal Audit Director at Beaulieu International.

Dirk holds master’s degrees in accountancy, computer auditing, and business administration, and is CISA certified.
