Overview

Developed under the guidance of CIA-certified subject matter experts1, this 1.5-day course provides participants with a comprehensive review of materials covered in the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Exam Part 1. The CIA Exam Part 1 is taken when working toward the CIA or IAP designation.
The course is specifically designed for those preparing for the CIA Exam Part 1 but who are not satisfied with, or wish to supplement, online or self-study. The course includes peer discussion, live instruction from a CIA-qualified instructor, and comparison of ideas with individuals in other organisations dealing with the same challenges. It also includes sample questions throughout and a short practice test. The course and all materials are in English.

- New internal auditors, university students and professionals without a degree who are aiming toward the IAP designation
- Other auditors or professionals considering taking the CIA Exam Part 1

Course Objectives

- Develop knowledge and understanding of The IIA’s Global Internal Audit Standards™ for the successful performance of internal audits.
- Learn the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF)® critical to performing internal audits in all organisations and passing the CIA exam.
- Understand The IIA’s Standards of Ethics and Professionalism and the importance of the actions of internal auditors in the performance of audits.
- Understand the basics of governance, risk management and control processes to be able to evaluate and suggest improvements to their effectiveness throughout the organisation.

It helps you to gain credibility and stand out from the start. The IAP helps build real-world competence. You'll demonstrate an understanding of the Global Internal Audit Standards, making you a confident contributor in your role. It also accelerates your path to the CIA. As a stepping stone to the prestigious Certified Internal Auditor® certification, the IAP gets you closer to the gold standard in the field. When you earn the IAP designation, you can add 'IAP' to your name. And if you later pursue the full CIA, you can skip the Part 1 exam.
