Michelle Haas

Michelle Haas is a PhD researcher in international and European politics at Ghent University. She is also an associate fellow at the Egmont Institute for International Relations and a board member of the Royal Higher Institute of Defence. She is also an active reservist in the Special Forces.

Previously, she worked as a policy officer specialising in foreign affairs, defence, and development cooperation at the House of Representatives. She also gained experience in the international relations department of the Belgian Centre for Cybersecurity. Her current research focuses on the impact of the war in Ukraine on European defence policy.
